Illinois Partners’ new report, Economic Impact of the Greater Peoria/Tri-County Health and Human Services Sector, shows that the human services sector is the region’s fifth largest employer and is a net contributor to the county’s GDP.
It also demonstrates that for every dollar of funding received, the sector returned a total of $1.77 in economic impact to the tri-county region in Fiscal Year 2021.
37 nonprofit organizations that operate in Greater Peoria/Tri-County region completed a survey (39% response rate) and the economic impact was then calculated for the report by Western Illinois University.
